Our History

The Reformed Church of Pakistan began as a single congregation, the Sutlej Reformed Presbyterian Church, under the evangelistic and pastoral ministry of indigenous missionary Pastor Arslan Ul Haq in 2011 in Bahawalpur. Recognizing the need for a strong, scriptural, evangelical, and Reformed witness to Christ in Pakistan, Pastor Arslan committed himself to proclaiming the gospel and discipling believers, seeking to establish a community of faith rooted in biblical Christianity.

Despite facing hardships such as poverty, rejection, and opposition, Pastor Arslan’s ministry continued to expand. He saw the need for greater cooperation among evangelical pastors, many of whom ministered independently without doctrinal guidance, ministerial support, or formal theological training. To address this need, he extended the hand of fellowship to independent evangelical pastors from various backgrounds. Some were graduates of Bible colleges and seminaries, while others had received no formal theological education. To equip and strengthen these pastors and church leaders, he initiated biblical and theological seminars, workshops, and mission trips throughout Pakistan. These efforts provided a platform for sound doctrinal teaching, ministerial support, and church planting.

By God’s sovereign grace, the work of the kingdom expanded. More pastors began to associate with Pastor Arslan, and this growing unity among like-minded pastors who desired to labor together for the advancement of the gospel led to the formal establishment of the Reformed Church of Pakistan as a denomination.

Since 2015, the Reformed Church of Pakistan has ordained numerous dedicated men, planted multiple congregations across Pakistan, and welcomed existing congregations into its fellowship.
