Divine Election and Reprobation

Article 1 
As all men have sinned in Adam, lie under the curse, and are deserving of eternal death, God would have done no injustice by leaving them all to perish and delivering them over to condemnation on account of sin, according to the words of the apostle: That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God (Rom. 3:19). For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23); and, For the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23).

توضیح 1

چونکہ تمام انسان آدم میں گناہ گار ہیں، لعنت کےماتحت ہیں اور ابدی موت کے مستحق ہیں، خدا نے ان سب کو ہلاکت میں چھوڑ کر اور گناہ کی وجہ سے سزا دینے میں کوئی ناانصافی نہیں کی، جیسا کہ رسول نے فرمایا، تاکہ ہر ایک کا منہ بند ہوجائے اور ساری دنیا خدا کے نزدیک سزا کے لائق ٹھہرے (رومیوں 19:3)۔ اِس لئے کہ سب نے گناہ کیا اور خدا کے جلال سے محروم ہیں (رومیوں 23:3)۔ کیونکہ گناہ کی مزدوری موت ہے (رومیوں 23:6)۔
