Islaahi Kalisiya-e-Pakistan

Welcome

“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.”

Dear visitor, I’m glad you’ve chosen to explore our website and discover more about the Reformed Church of Pakistan.

The Reformed Church of Pakistan (In Urdu: Islaahi Kalisiya-e-Pakistan) is a vibrant Christian denomination comprising 40 dynamic, evangelical, and mission-oriented churches and mission stations throughout Pakistan. As part of the wider universal church of Christ worldwide, our mission is to glorify God by planting Christ-exalting churches, strengthening Bible-loving congregations, equipping and training servant-leaders, and reaching the unreached with Christ’s Gospel.

The Reformed Church of Pakistan began as a single congregation, the Sutlej Reformed Presbyterian Church, under the evangelistic and pastoral ministry of indigenous missionary Pastor Arslan Ul Haq in 2011 in Bahawalpur. It was founded in response to the need for a strongly scriptural, evangelical, and Reformed witness to Christ in Pakistan. Pastor Arslan extended the hand of fellowship to other independent evangelical pastors, some of whom were graduates of various Bible colleges and seminaries, while others had no theological training. To fulfil this need, Pastor Arslan started Biblical and Theological seminars, workshops, and mission trips within Pakistan. As a result, the work of the kingdom expanded, new pastors began to fellowship with Pastor Arslan Ul Haq, and a denomination was formed.

Since 2015, the Reformed Church of Pakistan has successfully ordained numerous dedicated men, established multiple congregations across Pakistan, and welcomed several Christian congregations into its fold. The congregations of the Reformed Church of Pakistan are organised into four classes: Southern Classis, Southeastern Classis, Central Classis, and Northern Classis. Representatives from all these classes form the General Synod every five years.

The majority of our pastors are primarily based in rural areas, where they serve their communities with dedication and commitment. Their widespread presence allows us to reach and minister to diverse regions and communities throughout the country.

In addition to the churches and mission stations, the Reformed Church of Pakistan runs the Sutlej Reformed Theological Seminary. The first graduation took place in November 2022. The Reformed Church of Pakistan is also active in developing ministries among women, young people, and children, and is planning a shelter to support girls and women who are abused, forcibly converted, and married to non-Christians. It has pioneered home-based sewing centres where women are trained to sew. Upon completion of the training, they receive a sewing machine, providing them with independence and the ability to generate income.

An initiative has commenced to provide schooling at the Fellowship pre-school and primary level for children in the Tharparkar region of Sindh province, one of the poorest areas of Pakistan. Another project aims to provide pastors and other workers with motorcycles and smartphones to facilitate their ministries. The Reformed Church of Pakistan is also engaged in publication ministry and aims to translate and publish Reformed literature in Urdu.

Meanwhile, on an almost daily basis, the Reformed Church of Pakistan is involved in evangelistic and church-planting initiatives within Pakistan. It also meets the needs of its own members through the annual Reformation Convention, camps, conferences, and educational tours held both in summer and winter.

If you are more curious about us and want to gain a deeper understanding of who we are, you are welcome to join us for worship at any of our churches or visit us in person. We would be delighted to have you, and you will feel at home, embraced by our warm and welcoming community. God bless you abundantly.

In Christ that unites us
+ Pastor Arslan Ul Haq
