Divine Election and Reprobation

Article 2

But in this the love of God was manifested, that He sent His only begotten Son into the world, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (1 Jn. 4:9; Jn. 3:16).

Article 3
And that men may be brought to believe, God mercifully sends the messengers of these most joyful tidings to whom He will and at what time He pleases; by whose ministry men are called to repentance and faith in Christ crucified. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? (Rom. 10:14–15).

Article 4
The wrath of God abides upon those who believe not this gospel. But such as receive it and embrace Jesus the Savior by a true and living faith are by Him delivered from the wrath of God and from destruction, and have the gift of eternal life conferred upon them.

Article 5
The cause or guilt of this unbelief as well as of all other sins is no wise in God, but in man himself; whereas faith in Jesus Christ and salvation through Him is the free gift of God, as it is written: For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (Eph. 2:8). Likewise, To you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, etc. (Phil. 1:29).

لیکن اِس میں خدا کی محبت ظاہر ہوئی کہ اس نےاپنے اکلوتے بیٹے کو دنیا میں بھیجا تاکہ جو کوئی اس پر ایمان لائے ہلاک نہ ہو بلکہ ہمیشہ کی زندگی پائے (1 یوحنا 9:4، یوحنا 16:3)۔

توضیح 3

اس لئے کہ لوگ ایمان لائیں، خدا رحم کے ساتھ ان کے پا سں خو شخبر ی د ینے کے لئے پیا مبر بھیجتا ہےجس کے پا س وہ چا ہتا ہے اور جس وقت وہ چاہتا ہے لو گو ں کو تو بہ کر نے اور مسیح پر ایما ن لانے کے لئے بلایا جاتا ہے۔ مگر جس پر وہ ایمان نہیں لائے اس سے کیوں کر دعا کریں؟ اور جس کا ذکر انہوں نے سنا نہیں اُس پر ایمان کیونکر لائیں؟ اور بغیر منادی کرنے والے کے کیوں کر سنیں؟ اور جب تک وہ بھیجے نہ جائیں منادی کیوں کر کریں؟ (رومیوں 14:10-15)

توضیح 4

خدا کا غضب اُن لو گو ں پر قائم ر ہتا ہے جو اُس کی انجیل پر ایمان نہیں لاتے لیکن جو لوگ اسے قبول کرتے اور حقیقی اور زندہ ایمان کے ساتھ نجات دہندہ یسوع کو گلے لگاتے ہیں، وہ خدا کے غضب اور ہلاکت سے نجا ت پا تے ہیں اور انہیں ہمیشہ کی زندگی کی بخشش عطا ہوتی ہے۔

توضیح 5

اس بے اعتقادی کے ساتھ ساتھ دیگر تمام گناہوں کا سبب یا قصور خدا میں نہیں ، بلکہ خود انسان میں ہے (یعنی یہ کہ انسان کی خود کی غلطیوں اور انتخاب کی وجہ سے ہوتا ہے۔ خدا اِن گناہوں کا ذمہ دار نہیں ہے، بلکہ انسان خود اپنی غلطیوں کے لئے ذمہ دار ہے)۔ جبکہ یسوع مسیح پر ایمان اور اس کے ذریعے نجات خدا کی مفت بخشش ہے، جیسا کہ لکھا ہے، کیونکہ تم کو ایمان کے وسیلہ سے فضل ہی سے نجات ملی ہے اور یہ تمہاری طرف سے نہیں ۔ خدا کی بخشش ہے (افسیوں 8:2)۔ اِسی طرح ، مسیح کی خاطر تم پر یہ فضل ہوا کہ نہ فقط اُس پر ایمان لاؤ بلکہ اُس کی خاطر دکھ بھی سہو (فلپیوں 29:1)۔
